I have nuc6i7kyk and I am somewhat annoyed by fan noise.
Intel/Microsoft together seem to have developed "Connected Standby" or "Modern Standby" for when e.g. laptops are connected to power which allows them to have active idle network connections in a low power sleep mode. This also works with Hyper-V allowing your machine to sleep even when VM's are active.
To me the NUC is an always connected powerful laptop
This concept seems stellar and would allow my home server to sleep but still listen for incoming emails or media requests or remote desktop connections and instantly wake up when needed.
But the NUC seems to not support it:
powercfg.exe /a reports
"S0 Low Power Idle"
Not supported by firmware (or similar)
Are there any plans for adding this in a firmware update?
Thanks!
