Whoever is in charge of the transition from Intel® Driver Update Utility to Intel Driver & Support Assistant really needs to find a new line of work.
Wasn't there any testing done?
5 computers, different OS's Windows 7, Windows 10, etc , none of which was able to even go as far as detecting hardware.
After installing , using "check for new drivers" goes automatically back to the 'download' page. Another error "communication with service process failed" .
This happens in both IE and Chrome.
Tried reboot, reinstall, etc.
Useless.
I can almost guarantee you they outsourced the developer team and created this monstrosity.
